Need a little detoxing in between holidays? I know I sure do. I used to turn my nose when people talked about “craving a green smoothie.” When I say green, I mean organic and fresh. Now I have a mild, recent obsession with Sip Organic Juice Bar in Eastown after my workouts. I must say they are so good and definitely fill you up and tide you over. I guess you could say they are my inspiration for doing a smoothie recipe this week.
Smoothies are easy to whip up and keep in the fridge for a couple days. They are a great on-the-go breakfast and perfect snack.
Add the following ingredients below to your blender or Vitamix and away you go.
- 1 banana
- 1 apple
- 2 handfuls of Kale (about 2 cups)
- 1 carrot
- 1 handful of frozen pineapple (about 1 cup)
- 1 handful of frozen mixed berries (about 1 cup)
- 1 cup of almond milk (rice or cow would work too)
- 1 handful of ice
