Sometimes in life you just need some savory buttered mushrooms.

They are a great side kick to a lovely steak or even a great appetizer all on their very own. Bust out your cast iron skillet and get cooking.

Sautéed Butter Mushrooms

~ 1 package mushrooms, cleaned

~ 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil

~ salt & pepper to taste

~ 1 teaspoon thyme

Heat skillet to medium high heat. Melt butter and then add mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 10-15 minutes stirring frequently. In the last few minutes of sautéing add fresh thyme.

Transfer to a bowl and serve.
